St. John's is blessed with a community of people working together to carry out God's
ministries. We thank God for each member of the parish who contributes his
or her time and energy in doing the Lord's work, and are constantly inviting
others to become involved so they, too, can know the joy of God's blessings that
are waiting for them. We are thankful for our acolytes (including crucifers) who assist at the altar on Sunday mornings and at special services. Serving the continuing needs of our adults to learn in the context of St. John's Church. Adult Choir The Adult Choir is open to all adults at St. John's. Rehearsals are held twice a month after the 10 o'clock service. Alpha The "Alpha Course" is offered as an opportunity for people outside and within St. John's to examine the truth and relevance of Christianity in a small group setting. Click here for more information on the Alpha Course. Altar Guild The Altar Guild is responsible for care of our liturgical space, preparing for Sunday worship services, for baptisms, weddings and funerals. Children's Choir The Children's Choir is open to all children in 1st grade or above. Rehearsals are held every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. Christmas Fair Committee The annual Christmas fair is held in late November and is a opportunity for the church family to come together in many ways for fellowship, fun and fundraising for St. John's. St. John's has a strong Church School program for children that meets Sunday morning from September to June. Currently there is no Church School during the Summer. Deanery Delegates Lay persons and clergy from St. John's meet with other churches to discuss concerns both within the deanery and within the Diocese. Fellowship Ministry The Fellowship Ministry organizes social activities for fun and fellowship and to nurture and strengthen the parish community throughout the year. Grapevine The Grapevine is the parish newsletter that is published once a month. For the most recent Grapevine issue, click here. Lay Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors Lay Eucharistic ministers (LEMs) assist the priest on Sunday mornings and, occasionally, at other times. Lectors read from Holy Scripture. A safe and care environment is provided for infants through 3 years old, during the 10:00 service on Sundays. Outreach Ministry The Outreach Ministry focuses on the call in our parish mission statement to reach out beyond St. John's, "in the Name of Christ." Parish Prayer Line A dedicated team of people who intercede on behalf of those in our midst who need God's healing touch. Property and Grounds Committee Responsible care of our Church grounds is a reflection of our love of the Lord. Recognition and Appreciation Recognition and appreciation of members of St. John's parish who have given special service to the church is always appropriate. Stewardship Committee The Stewardship Committee has the task of educating and inviting parishioners to give back to the Lord a portion of what he has given us in appreciation and thanksgiving for his blessings. First impressions are lasting impressions! Welcome Ministry This ministry's main goal is to welcome visitors and to assist new parishioners with information, fellowship and support as they become acquainted with St. John's parish. Women's Group A fellowship of women at St. John's who gather to support each other and activities within the parish. The Worship Committee acts as an advisory group for the rector, providing feedback on worship activities (primarily the Sunday services). Youth Group is a fellowship group for 8th to 12th graders. They seek biblical guidance for their lives, outreach and other ministry, and raise funds for their activities.
